Support colleagues to review and interpret legislative, administrative, and organisational requirements, policies and processes.

EVIDENCE SUMMARY

Name of Evidence: School Review

Type of Evidence: photo of meeting

Context: A remote school in east Arnhem Land with aprox. 240 students. The panel for the school review was made up of outside staff from the education department, and some yolngu and balanda staff from Gapuwiyak School.

How this sample shows I have met the Standard Descriptor and put it into practice: I assisted the leadership team with the development of whole school approaches to literacy, Numeracy and Attendance Data collection. We also created a school wide behaviour management plan that aims to create a clear and consistent approach to classroom management of behaviours and streamline the process for obtaining assistance or elevating the problem when required. These processes were put in place after the 2023 School Review provided a 4-year plan for school improvement strategies.

How has this sample impacted on student learning: Students are given high quality teaching due to the clear guidlines set out for teachers.

Descriptor 7.4

Contribute to professional networks and associations and build productive links with the wider community to improve teaching and learning.

EVIDENCE SUMMARY

Name of Evidence: Non-verbal Language record

Type of Evidence: Word Document

Context: A remote indigenous community, with EAL/D students.

How this sample shows I have met the Standard Descriptor and put it into practice: This document was developed for the RBTL program from New Zealand that was being implemented in Australia. This program integrates relationships and learning into the classroom. It did not have any Australian based knowledge on non-verbal communication. It was noted to the program coordinator that this was a major part of relationship building and communication in Australian Indigenous settings. I placed it upon myself to build this living document so that the program could take it with them into their next Australian based setting.

How has this sample impacted on student learning? This allowed for coordinators and teachers to gather more accurate data on the interactions with the classroom and make appropriate responses/changes based on the data collected.
